Brother Henry Webb's Memorial Service and Funeral

Henry Charles Webb went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2014, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago after undergoing heart surgery on the previous day.

Henry was born on December 21, 1933, to Arthur and Ruth Webb of Chicago, Illinois. He came to know Jesus Christ as Savior as a child of seven through Sunday School at Belden Avenue Baptist Church. He served his country in Korea in the armed forces from 1956 to 1958. He was married to Susan Lois Dhur on February 7, 1959.

He began working as a wood finisher immediately upon returning from Korea and continued in that trade until the early 1990's when he was laid off during a recession and subsequently retired. He and Susan adopted two children, Paul and Lydia, in the early 1960's and lovingly raised them to know the Lord. Henry was a faithful member of Belden Avenue Baptist Church (later Belden Regular Baptist Church) for many years and later a faithful and much-loved member of Ravenswood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children Paul and Lydia, by his grandchildren Bethel, Clara, and Faith, by his son-in-law Timothy, his brother William, and his nephew Don. His beloved wife Susan pre-deceased Henry in early 2011.

Visitation will be held at Ravenswood Baptist Church, 4455 N. Seeley Ave., Chicago, IL, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014, followed by the funeral service in the same location at 10:30 a.m. Interment following the funeral service will be at Fairview Memorial park.

The family request that no flowers be sent. Feel free to make donations in Henry's memory to Ravenswood Baptist Christian School, 4437 N. Seeley Ave., Chicago, IL.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, which is far better. (2 Corinthians 5:8 and Philippians 1:23)
